Alice in Borderland Star Marries Pachinko Actress

On December 25, the official Twitter account for Keita Machida’s company LDH shared a statement confirming his marriage to longtime girlfriend Hyunri. It was revealed that the couple tied the knot on Christmas Day after dating for several years. “After co-starring in a movie, we started to spend our days as reassuring partners who support each other, and we have been dating on the premise of marriage,” the statement read. “From now on, we will work together to build a better future, and to become a better person and actor.”

“We are very sorry that we have to report this in writing, but we would appreciate your continued guidance and encouragement,” it continued before concluding, “Last but not least, we wish you all the best in your health and happiness.” Keita Machida started his career in theater in 2010 before making the big move to films and TV shows. He is known for his roles in movies like Sukimasuki, Over Drive, Cherry Magic!, and Your Eyes Tell. Machida would be part of the High and Low films and TV shows where he played Noboru Harada. In 2020, Keita Machida achieved global fame by playing Daikichi Karube in Netflix’s Alice in Borderland. Although the character was killed off in the first season, Machida appeared in several flashback scenes in Season 2.

Hyunri was born in Tokyo, Japan, to South Korean parents. She is fluent in Japanese, Korean, and English, and has played Korean characters in TV shows like Love You As The World Ends. She was recently cast in the American drama Pachinko. All eight episodes of Alice in Borderland Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
