Speaking with Collider, Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy named the actor they asked to come in and begin the first shot of Season 2.

“I’ll just say we’re shooting Syril first, Kyle’s working first,” Gilroy said. However, fans need to note that the order of the filming is not entirely the sequence of the scenes in the final product.

Many believe that Andor is currently the best Star Wars show on TV right now. Having recently aired its Season 1 finale, the viewers were greeted with one hell of an ending that both fueled anger and anticipation.

Without giving too much away, the audience was faced with the passing of the Rebellion’s most important hero. Fans took to social media in denial to share their theories that the major finale death was a stunt or a hoax, but Gilroy slammed the conspiracy and confirmed it was entirely true.

Now, fans are left with shattered hearts and the hope that the second season might come soon, but the showrunner affirmed that Andor Season 2 won’t premiere on Disney+ until 2024 at the earliest.

“It’ll come out [in] two years later. The only place you can accelerate the processes in post, and the only way you can accelerate in post is with money, lots of money, and money is tight.” said Gilroy.

Season 2 is expected to come with familiar faces, starting with Diego Luna, Duncan Pow, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios.

Denise Gough, Adria Arjona, Joplin Sibtain, Elizabeth Dulau, Faye Marsay, and Varada Sethu have yet to confirm their returns, but fans are confident that Season 1 is too short to see more of these faces.

All episodes of Andor Season 1 are now streaming on Disney+.
