This upcoming live-stage musical is entitled Attack on Titan the Musical and was announced today on its official Twitter account. The first trailer was also shared on its new official YouTube channel. While it doesn’t feature what the stage will look like, the trailer did showcase the show’s main cast. Check it out here: Alongside the announcement, the musical’s staff and cast were also revealed. Handling direction is Go Ueki who is joined by scriptwriter Masafumi Hata. Alongside them is Ken the 390, who is in charge of music, with lyrics by Kaori Miura. Meanwhile, the show’s cast includes:

Currently, there’s no word yet on which part of the manga the musical will cover. But based on the trailer and the cast, it’s likely that the stage play will cover the earlier parts of the Attack on Titan story. Attack on Titan is a manga series by Hajime Isayama that was serialized in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021. It received an anime series adaptation by Wit Studio in 2013. After the first season’s success, the show was renewed for two more seasons with Wit Studio still overseeing animation. But the series’ multi-part final season is animated by studio MAPPA. Attack on Titan the Musical will run from January 7-9, 2023, at the Orix Theater in Osaka, Japan. After this initial run, the production will move to the Nippon Seinekan Hall in Tokyo from January 14-24, 2023. Tickets will be available for sale on November 5, 2022. As for the anime’s finale, Part 3 of Attack on Titan: The Final Season is set to release in early 2023. It is expected to be the last part of the Final Season project.
