Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Producer Nate Moore recently revealed that the movie title was supposed to focus on Namor, the Sub-Mariner.

Speaking with Collider, Black Panther 2 producer Moore poses some of the questions they had while mulling over what would be the best fitting title for Black Panther’s sequel like, ‘Kingdom of the Deep’ which led them to rethink if they wanted to hold the angle on Namor, specifically. Read Nate Moore’s full quote below:

Personally, I’m glad they made the right choice of staying with Wakanda Forever. Otherwise, pinning Namor to be the ‘main theme’ or focus of the story would render their planned tribute to Chadwick Boseman and T’Challa futile, because then, ‘Black Panther: Kingdom of the Deep’ would have only felt like another superhero movie rather than something as meaningful as a nation coming together to defend their land and paying respects to their beloved hero. Besides, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a nicer ring to it, don’t you think?

Nate Moore continues to say what ultimately led them to decide to keep Wakanda Forever as the title for the sequel.

There are no official announcements yet on a Black Panther 3, but you can be sure to be updated on this story here on EpicStream.
