Speaking of the upcoming project, it looks like longtime comic book readers aren’t going to be pleased with Cox’s next outing as Matt Murdock and unlike the title suggests, it might end up becoming its own story.In an interview with inews, the 40-year-old English actor shares that despite the fact that the show’s title is similar to the iconic comic storyline by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, Daredevil: Born Again won’t be an adaptation of the said 1986 comic. Cox explains: “I don’t think anyone should read into the name as to the kind of stories that we’re going to tell.“Cox also addressed concern from the fandom about whether or not his take on the character will become less gritty now that he’s under Disney. He added: “I don’t think it’s a different character. I just think it’s maybe a different period of his life. Now, we still don’t know if Disney actually plans to give us a watered-down version of Matt Murdock but his appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law garnering mixed reception from fans isn’t that good of a sign.No official release date has been set for Daredevil: Born Again but the series is expected to hit Disney+ sometime in 2024.
