The Final War Arc is certainly living up to the dark implications of the title, as the final battle between the heroes and villain All For One and his protege Shigaraki raises up the stakes as they claim some victims. As expected from a proper shonen story, some deaths were bound to hit harder than others, and if you’ve heard the buzz or read the relevant chapter, you’re probably asking: Did Bakugo die in My Hero Academia?

Is Bakugo dead in My Hero Academia?
In Chapter 362 of My Hero Academia, Bakugo, leading pro hero Best Jeanist and U.A.’s Big Three squad are the only ones left to hold All For One-controlled Shigaraki until Izuku Midoriya arrives with the power of One For All. However, that didn’t turn out to be enough to hold the line, and ultimately, Bakugo literally loses his heart. Based on major spoilers revealed online, Bakugo is in fact dead. All For One intends to kill Bakugo to wound Izuku as deeply as possible, and Bakugo is not the kind of hero to run away under any circumstances, so he faced the powerful archvillain despite his potential demise. The manga doesn’t leave much room for interpretation. Several panels from the chapter show Bakugo in the afterlife or left in a lifeless state, so it’s unlikely that he will somehow survive the villain’s devastating attack. Is there a way to bring Bakugo back to life?
My Hero Academia fans know that there’s one character who has the ability to revive Bakugo and reverse his death, and that person is Eri, the granddaughter of the Shie Hassaikai’s boss. She has a unique Reversal Quirk capable of reversing the state of any living being to an earlier point in existence. She used this Quirk when she erased her father from existence, “healed” Deku to a point where One for All hadn’t damaged his limbs in his battle against Overhaul, and when she brought back Mirio’s powers following the erasure of his Quirk. It’s still unclear if Kōhei Horikoshi will take My Hero Academia’s story to this direction, however, so fans will have to keep up with the manga to find out if Bakugo will be brought back to life or not. While some fans are hoping that he won’t ultimately die, others would respect the author’s decision to kill a major character instead of reversing his death. There’s also the question: Can Eri’s Quirk actually bring Bakugo back to life?
