Kodansha is known for many iconic anime shows such as Ghost in the Shell (2017), A Silent Voice: The Movie (2016), Your Lie in April (2014-2015), but perhaps most notably for Cells at Work! and the Attack on Titan franchise. The announcement of this major anime partnership includes Kodansha providing license for exclusive anime titles starting with Tokyo Revengers Season 2 to launch on Disney Plus, and creating an original anime series for the streaming site.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the exclusive launching of Kodansha’s anime titles will start in January 2023, starting with season 2 of Tokyo Revengers and its Christmas special, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc.

This is not the only Disney anime project being worked on. Previously, Lucasfilm and Studio Ghibli announced a mystery Star Wars project in the works, which was initially speculated to be season 2 of Star Wars: Vision.

However, the official Star Wars Twitter account had announced that their upcoming project is actually titled Star Wars: Zen - Grogu and Dust Bunnies, which is a hand-drawn original short featuring Baby Yoda and little Soot Sprites from Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away.
