According to Deadline, Travis Fimmel is the latest cast addition to Dune: The Sisterhood. The report also confirms that Fimmel will portray “Desmond Hart, a charismatic soldier with an enigmatic past who seeks to gain the Emperor’s trust at the expense of the Sisterhood.” This could mean that the Vikings star will go up against the Harkonnen sisters who will be played by Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson. Dune: The Sisterhood will be the second HBO Max series for Travis Fimmel who previously appeared in Raised by Wolves. The latter show has been cancelled by the streamer after two seasons.

Fimmel joins the cast which already includes Watson, Henderson, Indira Varma, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds and Chloe Lea. The Dune prequel is currently in development but is already expected to begin production soon. Denis Villeneuve will be involved in the prequel series while also working on Dune: Part Two. The sequel to the 2021 film is currently being shot overseas and there could be an update soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story. Dune: Part Two will bring back Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. They will be joined by new cast members Florence Pugh as the Emperor’s daughter Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as the villainous Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Christopher Walken as the Emperor Shaddam IV, and Léa Seydoux as the Bene Gesserit Lady Margot. Dune: The Sisterhood has not yet been given an official release date. In the meantime, Dune: Part Two is already scheduled to premiere in theaters on November 3, 2023.
