In a recent report from TheWrap which explained why the film got canceled and how director Patty Jenkins walked off from the project, they also revealed that Gadot is still attached to play Wonder Woman in the DCU as of this time and the studio has not pulled the plug on the Wonder Woman franchise. However, they also haven’t approached the actress yet regarding what she feels about continuing the role without Jenkins’ involvement and there are hopes that she will still stay despite the incoming changes. It is also worth noting that Gadot tweeted the day before the news came regarding the project’s cancellation that she is excited for the next chapter on her character, which some fans have speculated that she may be hinting that she will still continue the role with or without Jenkins.

With the recent shakeups that have been happening in the DCU franchise, there have also been concerns from fans that there might be a massive reboot coming and a recast of the key roles such as the Justice League heroes. Now, it looks like Gadot will still remain in the role for now. Obviously, things could still change in the coming weeks as James Gunn and Peter Safran are getting closer to presenting their DCU plan to Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav which is set to happen next week, Soon enough, we will be able to find out what kind of direction do they have in mind on the future of the franchise.
