With the success of the anthology’s second installment, Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor was also a success for the team, as fans embraced it wholeheartedly. With this, fans are always hoping that Mike Flanagan’s work will forever grace Netflix.

In 2018, King took to Twitter to commend Flanagan’s work with Hill House. He noted that the creation is close to a work of genius.

He wrote, “THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, revised and remodeled by Mike Flanagan. I don’t usually care for this kind of revisionism, but this is great. Close to a work of genius, really. I think Shirley Jackson would approve, but who knows for sure.”

Given the closure of Flanagan’s partnership with Netflix, fans are still asking if there’s a chance for a follow-up series to accompany Hill House and Bly Manor.

He said he’s not ruling out the possibility but it still requires to have the elements of a piece of classic horror literature.

“If the stars align in such a way that we decide to go back into the Haunting world, it would have to be so much on that track that we’ve set up,” said Flanagan.

Hill House and Bly Manor are both streaming on Netflix.
