In the January 2023 issue of Empire Magazine, Gao said, “[She-Hulk’s finale hopefully] allows more Marvel projects to get a little weird. One of my proudest accomplishments is how this was the horniest Marvel show so far.”

Since the show aired, the head writer has been very enthusiastic about the realistic portrayal of sex that they have exhibited in She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) has been seen swiping on dating apps, agonizing over a string of bad first dates, and scenarios in which she unapologetically takes a guy home whenever she wants.

Gao once told Entertainment Weekly, “I’ve been saying repeatedly that we are a very horny-forward show. We’re just all very sex positive. We don’t want it to feel like a taboo, because this show is supposed to be a well-rounded, realistic portrait of a woman’s life, a single, 30-something-year-old woman, and sex is a part of everyone’s life.”

The very scene that MCU fans took so much delight from in this “very horny” show was when Daredevil (Matt Murdock) did a morning-after or walk of shame after spending the night with Jen. This picture has given fans some hope that they will see more of the pairing and their mature relationship.

Given Marvel’s sexless reputation because saving the world is way more important, it has become Gao’s goal to show that sex is such a basic part of biology that she wouldn’t want to set it aside when showcasing the life of this superhero woman.

She-Hulk centers on lawyer Jennifer, who gets involved in a car crash and receives a transfusion of gamma-irradiated blood from her cousin, Bruce “The Hulk” Banner, allowing her to transform into the same 2 meter-tall hulking green creature.
