In House of the Dragon Episode 7, the Targaryens headed for Driftmark to mourn for Laena Velaryon, who died in the previous episode after failing to deliver her third child. Although it is a grand reunion, the attendees are somber and awkward considering that some individuals have not seen each other for a long time. For instance, Otto Hightower has been reinstated as the Hand and Daemon Targaryen isn’t pleased about it. Daemon is still in mourning but he gets into a better mood after reuniting with Rhaenyra, who comforts him. Naturally, the two have sex right before the children started fighting as Aemond Targaryen claims Vhagar.

The sex scene could have been enough for one episode but House of the Dragon went even further by showing Rhaenyra and Daemon discuss how they could strengthen her position as heir of the Iron Throne. They decide to get married but to get Rhaenyra’s husband Laenor Velaryon out of the way, Daemon pays Laenor’s lover Ser Qarl to kill him. Instead of killing the King consort, Qarl burns a body which looks like Laenor while the both of them flee Driftmark.

Overall, it was a win for Rhaenyra and Daemon shippers and fans are celebrating all over social media.

House of the Dragon Episode 7 is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 8 is titled The Lord of the Tides and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
