Ser Arryk and Erryk made their debut in House of the Dragon Episode 9 where the twins immediately decided which side they would be on. Arryk chose to support Aegon II Targaryen while Erryk took the side of the Blacks, aiding Rhaenys Velaryon in escaping to Dragonstone. In the final episode, Erryk reappears at Dragonstone, having stolen Viserys I Targaryen’s crown and presenting it to Rhaenyra Targaryen to prove his loyalty. But was it truly Erryk? As it turns out, the actor who plays Arryk was the one who played Erryk in Episode 10.

“There’s that scene, that big scene where Corlys [Steve Toussaint] comes down and they’re putting the markers on the table and the messenger comes in,” director Greg Yaitanes says on the West of Westeros podcast (via Entertainment Weekly). “It was a shot over two days and then one got COVID.” “[Elliott] got COVID, so we swapped him out with his brother,” he continued. It was unfortunate that Elliot Tittensor got COVID just before he could film an important scene for Erryk. Luckily, he had a twin brother who could easily take on the role for him. The Cargyll twins have only appeared briefly in the first season but there is little doubt that they will play a bigger role in House of the Dragon Season 2. House of the Dragon Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
