If there’s one thing that fans complained about in the first season of House of the Dragon, it was the fact that the series constantly recast certain characters because of multiple time jumps. For instance, Aegon II Targaryen was played by three actors, including an infant. More notably, the two main characters Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower were recast in the middle of the season.

Luckily for fans, the recasts have come to an end. Ryan Condal says House of the Dragon Season 2 will no longer have to deal with recasts. “I will say, as a reward to our wonderful audience for following us through all the time jumps and recasts, they are done,” Condal told Deadline. “We tell the story in real-time from here forward,” he continued. The actors are playing these characters until the end. We’re not recasting anybody. We’re not making any huge jumps forward in time. We are now in the Dance of the Dragons, and we’re gonna tell that story." That doesn’t mean that House of the Dragon is done with the time jumps. There will still be skips but these will not mean new actors will be brought in. House of the Dragon Season 2 has already been confirmed but the show’s next chapter has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
