Is Night Sky Renewed for Season 2
This was actually a huge surprise for those who were able to watch the sci-fi heartbreaker. After just one season, the show was axed despite being called a flagship series for the platform. The announcement came just eight weeks after Season 1 premiered. Deadline reported that the reason behind the cancelation was “the series did not make a significant viewership impact while carrying sizable costs tied to its sci-fi content.” Despite this, fans are hopeful that other streaming platforms will pick up the show and revive it for a Season 2.
Night Sky Season 2 Story
Night Sky is a story of a couple, Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons, who own a chamber leading to another world. The official synopsis from Prime Video is: “Spanning space and time, Night Sky follows Irene and Franklin York, a couple who, years ago, discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet.” If Night Sky Season 2 happens, it would likely bank on what happened in the finale of the first season. But right now, there is no way we can foresee what surprises will happen in future seasons. Many believe that the show was short-lived and deserved to be renewed for more seasons. The show is produced by Holden Miller and Daniel C. Connolly, who also serves as showrunner.
