Is The Peripheral Based On A Book?

Yes, The Peripheral is from the pages of the book of the same name which William Gibson wrote and released in 2014. It is set in a near-apocalyptic version of the future. The Peripheral follows Flynne Fisher and her brother Burton, a marine veteran, who was hired for a security job unlike any other. It is in a place where he thought of as a cyberspace, but Flynne took over and she saw what possible could be murder. There are a few tweaks in the series, of course, where the show involves their dying mother. It is in year 2023, in the small town of Blue Ridge Mountains and Flynne and Burton are looking for ways for their mother’s medications unlike in the book where Burton has cybernetic implants.

Chloë Grace Moretz stars the series as Flynne Fisher, and Jack Reynor as Burton. The cast of The Peripheral includes Gary Carr as Wilf Netherton, Melinda Page Hamilton as Ella Fisher, Katie Leung as Ash, Chris Coy as Jasper Baker. Louis Herthum as Corbell Pickett, JJ Feild as Lev Zubov, and T’Nia Miller as Cherise Nuland. Other characters include Eli Goree as Conner Penske, Amber Rose Revah as Grace, Julian Moore-Cook as Ossian, Alex Hernandez as Tommy Constantine, Austin Rising as Leon, Adelind Horan as Billy Ann Baker, Charlotte Riley as Aelita West, and Alexandra Billings as Detective Ainsley Lowbeer.
