In a recent interview with The New York Times, Lawrence shared her initial reaction to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: part of it was her being surprised by how soon it came together.

Lawrence even shared a little advice to the cast of The Hunger Games prequel where she enthusiastically said, “Oh and the prequel? Oh my God, you guys are going to have the BEST time. Just have fun — don’t worry about anything.” Even she seems to be excited for the movie to soon be released, clearly rooting for Rachel Zegler and the rest of the cast, they’re going to ‘nail’ their roles.

The prequel takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute for the 74th Hunger Games, so a cameo from Jennifer Lawrence would be unlikely. However, fans have been talking about a potential and logical role for the actress to fulfill — Katniss Everdeen’s grandmother Brandie.

Meanwhile, Rachel Zegler took to Tiktok a little behind-the-scenes tour of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes where she also featured some of the cast on camera; Zegler is set to play the role of Lucy Gray Baird.
