As it stands, we still don’t know what the future holds for Depp, who was once considered persona non grata in the industry but a new rumor suggests that he’s set to make a “splashing” comeback to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.According to the UK tabloid The Sun, Disney is already working on Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean comeback project. The report says that the film, with the working title A Day At The Sea, will be a spinoff as opposed to the sixth installment in the beloved franchise which began nearly two decades ago. It’s worth mentioning though that The Sun is the same outlet Depp had problems with in the past so it’s best to take their report with a huge grain of salt. Of course, the idea of Johnny making his triumphant return to the franchise he pretty much defined sounds extremely enticing.

Could that be the rumored A Day At The Sea project? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.That said, every film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is available to stream on Disney+.
