The Hollywood Reporter drops the news that Jacob Lofland will be joining the cast of Joker: Folie à Deux in a key role playing an inmate who will develop a relationship with Arthur Fleck while in the Arkham Asylum and theories point that Lofland will be another villain from the institution. Jacob Lofland is known for his roles as Neckbone in Mud, Own Briggs in Little Accidents, Snoggs in 12 Mighty Orphans, Isaac in A House on the Bayou, and Aris in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure. Details about Joker: Folie à Deux remains under wraps but recently, the film added Brendon Gleeson and Catherine Keener in undisclosed roles as well. Lady Gaga has confirmed her involvement in Joker: Folie à Deux teasing her role as Dr. Harleen Quinzel who later becomes Harley Quinn.

Joaquin Phoenix is set to reprise his iconic role as Arthur Fleck, The Joker, in a musical sequel, Joker: Folie À Deux, to be directed by Todd Phillips who will also pen the script alongside Scott Silver. Production of the film is set to commence in November this year. The title of the film, Joker: Folie À Deux, is a French term for “folly of two” or “madness of two.” Folie À Deux is also called as a shared delusional disorder which is a rare psyhchiatric syndrome where two people close to each other share the same delusion. Joker 2: Folie À Deux is set to release on October 4, 2024.
