The Super Mario Bros. Movie is currently slated for release on April next year and it takes everyone back, with the famous characters of the game it is based on, to the Mushroom Kingdom decades after 29 years since the 1993 Super Mario Bros. film. Now, a new clip surfaced for the movie in a McDonald’s commercial. The footage is shared on Twitter by @dfffaz001 for a new commercial of McDonald’s with The Super Mario Bros. Movie as the Happy Meal toy and it shows a child peeking into the Happy Meal container where he sees Mario in Mushroom Kingdom. The clip sees Mario jumping off of platforms to reach a box before he gets attacked by a Piranha Plant, an iconic enemy of Mario in the game. The Piranha Plant is expected to make its wat to The Super Mario Bros. Movie as well.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a collaboration between Universal Pictures, the distributor of the movie, Nintendo, the producer of the famous game franchise, and Illumination, the production studio. Joining Chris Pratt who voices Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie are Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike. Khary Payton will voice the Penguin King and the voice of Mario in the game franchise, Charles Martinet, will be voicing an undisclosed cameo. The Super Mario Bros. Movie will have its theatrical release on April 7, 2023.
