Speaking recently with Variety, Keaton admitted that he still has not seen any comic book movies although it’s not because he is “highbrow,” but it’s simply because he has “other shit to do.”

“I know people don’t believe this, that I’ve never seen an entire version of any of those movies — any Marvel movie, any other,” Keaton revealed. “And I don’t say that I don’t watch that because I’m highbrow — trust me! It’s not that. It’s just that there’s very little things I watch. I start watching something and think it is great, and I watch three episodes, but I have other shit to do!”

Keaton made the revelation during the discussion when he was asked why he agreed to return as Batman in The Flash which he simply answered, “It seemed like fun,” and how he credits directors Richard Donner and Tim Burton for igniting superhero movies through their respective films 1978’s Superman and 1989’s Batman.

It might be surprising to hear that Keaton has not seen any of the films in the genre despite being one of the names that people associate with it and the impact that he had when he first played the Caped Crusader in 1989.

However, it is understandable once you learn his reason why he has not seen any of the films and it seems that it’s only just a matter of timing and commitment for him since he’s also a busy person and has other things that he needs to do in his spare time.

It is exciting to see Keaton’s return as Batman next year in The Flash and how it will all play out since a lot of fans have been anticipating it. It would also be interesting to see if he will indeed continue playing the Vulture as hinted by the post-credits scene of Morbius.
