IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Rick Riordan Addresses Potential Percy Jackson Sequel Installments on Disney Plus

Recently sitting down with GoErie (via What’s on Disney Plus), Scobell not only delves into what the upcoming series will behold, but also the confirmation of some novel adaptation scenes, as well as an upcoming renewal for Season 2 already. Check out his full comment below:

Riordan has actually previously confirmed that while the Percy Jackson reboot is still in development, they do plan to allot one season per book in the series. Actually, the author even addressed that there’s a possibility for a sequel series, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo, should Percy Jackson and the Olympians succeed, which would not be far-fetched, seeing as fans have long been looking forward for the reboot. Even Riordan did not like the initial adaptations of it, so it is satisfying to see that the author is staying true to what he promised: doing his books justice with this reboot.

The reboot will also be starring Jessica Parker as Medusa, Virginia Krull as Sally Jackson (Percy’s mother), Suzanne Cryer as Echidna, Megan Mullally as Ms. Dodds/Alecto, Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano (Percy’s stepfather), Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Ryan Cowie as the “chaperone”, Glynn Turman as Chiron/Mr. Brunner, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Jay Duplass as Hades, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Adam “Edge” Copeland as Ares, Timothy Omundsen as Hephaestus, and Jason Mantzoukas as Mr. D / Dionysus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series is expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
