In a recent interview with Collider, Reynolds speaks about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and how his return is not actually meant as a ‘hard sell’ in the promotion of Deadpool 3. The actor even reiterates that Kevin Feige and the team went through storyboarding to make this film a reality. Read Reynolds’ full quote below:

Seeing as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all about story and character continuity, it would be difficult to suddenly diverge from the path just to make way for an unexpected yet highly anticipated comeback for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. There’s a chance this ‘random occurrence’ will be addressed and explained through Deadpool’s ability to break the fourth wall, or might even just slam it in the audience’s faces that there’s nothing they can do about it.

Besides, Reynolds is right about Wolverine not being a ‘hard sell.’ He instantly got a sequel Deadpool movie simply because fans had grown fond of Wade Wilson. After all, it outgrossed its predecessor. And with Jackman joining in the fun, there’s a chance we might get to see Deadpool literally pulling Wolverine out of retirement just to join his team in another ‘mission.’

Deadpool 3 is coming to theaters on November 8, 2024.
