Recently, Warner Bros. announced a new schedule for Shazam! Fury of the Gods from its original December 2022 schedule to that of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on March 2023 to seemingly avoid competing with Avatar: The Way of Water and Aquaman 2 will be having its 2023 Christmas release.

On Labor Day, David F. Sandberg had a question and answer on his Instagram stories and one question asked was about the reshoot of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Sandberg immediately dismisses the rumor and says that they are now under the post-production stage. (See the Instagram story below.)

Sandberg reiterated his point by dismissing the reshoot rumors saying, “Definitely not shooting more.”

In a tweet, David F. Sandberg personally addressed the delay of Shazam! Fury of the Gods and he said that he wanted to have his DC film the spotlight without another huge movie overshadowing it, Avatar: The Way of Water, which has been a highly anticipated film this year.

With the delay of the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, it just bought more time for the studio to focus more on the material they now have on their hands for all the enhancements it would need such as the music, visual effects, and color-grading.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be following the heroes as they take on the villain, Hespera and Calypso, the daughters of Atlas, the Greek titan.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently set to release in theaters on March 17, 2023.
