‘Six Seasons and a Movie’ was often referenced throughout the series by one of its star characters, Abed (played by Danny Pudi), who often relates his obsession with media to each episode he experiences with his study group.

Community ran for five seasons before it was canceled, only to get picked up later for its sixth season continuation. Now that the inside joke is coming true, it’s good to know that Show Creator Dan Harmon and its main cast, Joel McHale’s Jeff, Alison Brie’s Annie, Danny Pudi’s Abed, Gillian Jacobs’ Britta, Ken Jeong’s Ben Chang, and Jim Rash’s Dean Pelton will be coming back to fulfill their ‘and a movie’ promise. In an interview with ET, Joel McHale excitedly addresses the news of a Community movie finally happening, “We can’t believe a show that was canceled twice is now getting a movie. The ‘Six Seasons and a Movie’ hashtag actually freaking happened!”

Yvette Nicole Brown’s Shirley and Donald Glover’s Troy’s return are unconfirmed, and Chevy Chase’s Pierce character already met its end in season 5. Community wouldn’t feel complete without its original cast members reprising their roles, but here’s to hoping there’s news on them joining back to complete the series’ ending.

Plot details are still under wraps, but Dan Harmon will be handling the screenwriting with Joel McHale as its executive producer. The movie is set to air on Peacock in 2023. Also Read: What Time Does Mr. Harrigan’s Phone Come Out on Netflix?
