We’re talking about Jar Jar Binks who has been the subject of ridicule since making his official canon appearance in 1999. The character who is played and voiced by actor Ahmed Best has become one of the most polarizing figures in all of Star Wars and the backlash surrounding his existence even led to Ahmed developing suicidal thoughts.Just recently, Ahmed revealed that he’s working on staging a one-man show that will be centered on Jar Jar, and surprisingly enough, many fans have expressed their support for the project. Still, there are people who aren’t interested in anything Jar Jar-related and the 49-year-old star is sharing his true feelings about it.Taking to Instagram, Best said that being criticized for his role as the clumsy Gungan is something that he’s been dealing with for over two decades now. Admittedly though, he still finds it demoralizing that words such as “hate”, “worst”, and “cringeworthy” are still being thrown his way on a regular basis, especially when the subject of Jar Jar is being brought up.However, he’s determined now more than ever to tell his version of how the prequels actually went down in the eyes of Jar Jar.
