It turns out that the decision came from Nexstar, the conglomerate that recently acquired The CW. Luckily, the heads-up allowed the show’s writers to craft a suitable ending for the project which made its debut during the height of the pandemic.On Twitter, Bassinger confirmed the unfortunate news, saying that she’s feeling a lot of things currently. Still, she extends her gratitude to the people who made her superhero break happen. In a heartfelt tweet, Bassinger wrote: “If Stargirl taught me anything, it’s to believe in Destiny. Everything happens for a reason. Feeling a lot of things, but more than anything, feeling gratitude for these past four years. Thank you everyone. Thank you Stargirl”.
