As reported by TheWrap, through a series of Cameo videos, Elsass opened up about his decision to leave Superman & Lois after working for two seasons and he admitted that he wants to prioritize taking care of his mental health which has been “rough” for him in the last few years.

“It’s been a tough few weeks, as you might imagine, with everything going on with the show,” Elsass said. “It’s sad, it’s a real shame. I know that I was pumped for Season 3, for sure, but what are you going to do? Anyway, mental health is definitely 100-percent priority. It’s pinnacle. It’s got to take precedence. And mine has been… the last couple of years… it’s been rough.”

Elsass also admitted in the video that he’s been thinking about whether he should still continue his acting career or not.

“I need some time to myself,” he added. “I’m still debating whether I’m even going to act for a while. I may go in a different direction. I know that’s definitely going to be disappointing to some people.”

Based on the actor’s comments, it looks like the reports regarding the reason for his exit from Superman & Lois are likely to be true since he also cited wanting to take care of his mental health, which is obviously an important matter to address.

While some fans might be disappointed to hear that Elsass will no longer be involved in the series, his exit was due to an important personal reason that he needs to prioritize and we definitely wish him all the luck on his mental health break.
