Much of the anime’s humor relies on the fact that Cid’s make-belief machinations prove to be much more than that – and everyone knows apart from him. In the third episode of the isekai anime, Cid still thinks that Alpha and her friends are still too caught up in his imaginary story. Soon after, Cid enrolls in the same academy his sister, Claire, goes to. There, he does his best to be a background character who avoids drawing attention to himself, choosing two ordinary guys, Skel and Po, as friends. But Cid doesn’t get to stay in the shadows as he soon finds himself dating Alexia, a princess who invites him to her fencing class. Cid finds out that Alexia, who has a fiance she doesn’t care for, is only using him. But when the two break up after a misunderstanding, Alexia disappears. The next day, Cid is arrested as a suspect.
