Now, Simon Pegg, who had a brief appearance in 2015’s The Force Awakens as the Jakku junk boss Unkar Plutt Pegg, who is no longer a stranger to starring in massive film franchises said during an interview with SiriusXM’s Jim and Sam (via The Wrap) that the “Star Wars fan base seems to be the most toxic at the moment.“Admittedly, he was once part of that bunch after making jokes about Jar Jar Binks, arguably one of the most divisive characters in the entire franchise. He added: “I’ve apologized for the things I said about Jar Jar Binks. Cause of course there was a f—ing actor involved. He was getting a lot of flack and…it was a human being.
