The update comes from VALORANT Character Producer John Goscicki in the September 2022 State of the Agents blog. In addition to sharing insight about the balance changes they’ve worked on for various VALORANT Agents, Goscicki shared a never-before-seen art teasing the upcoming Agent.

Although the art doesn’t fully reveal Agent 21’s look, it shows us clues that confirm the new Agent’s Indian origin as it features a glass of chai, samosas, and a journal that shows the map of India. The teaser also comes with the message: “Jald hi milte hain”, which means “Let’s meet soon” or “See you soon”. The update also confirms that the next VALORANT Agent will be a Controller. “As the game has evolved with shifting metas, new maps, and an increase in general game knowledge, we’re always identifying potential new opportunities for Agents 12–14 months ahead of time,” Goscicki said. “We have seen that Controllers are in a bit of a drought, and it feels like we have to go all the way back to ancient times to our last new Controller release with Astra. Aside from Viper, introducing Controllers that can cover large open areas is a blue ocean of opportunity.” “We’ve let this soak long enough, and Agent 21 is almost ready to go out,” he added. “I don’t want to flood you with too much information in this blurb here, so I’ll hold off on saying much more.” Goscicki is obviously teasing the upcoming Agent’s water-themed abilities with the water puns in his message. Previous leaks and in-game clues hint that the next Agent will have water-themed abilities, and you can check more information in everything we know about VALORANT Agent 21 article.
