During the exam, Alto was doing his best to pass, but he was mocked by Iolite for being slow. The guard then informed the professor about the murdered student and the professor realized that Iolite is not a student. The impostor explained that he was just taking the test for fun and summoned a stone golem to break the professor’s legs. Vermeil and the professor from the first exam arrived while the rest of the students except Alto left. The golem attacked Vermeil, and to protect her, Alto used his power to shatter the golem. Vermeil even turned into her monster form but was easily knocked out. When Alto was about to get killed, the Mage of the Beginning appeared and revealed that she was the one who sealed Vermeil in the book.
