Is There a Mayfair Witches Movie?
Not quite a movie. At the 2022 New York Comic Con (NYCC), it was announced that AMC is adapting Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. It’s about time we welcome back the immortal characters from Rice’s books.
When Is Mayfair Witches Coming Out?
As revealed, Mayfair Witches will be making its way to AMC+ starting Thursday, January 5, 2023. There will be a total of 8 episodes in the first season. On January 5th, the first two episodes of the show will be released on the streaming service. The remaining six episodes will have a weekly release every Thursday.
What Is the Mayfair Witches About?
AMC’s official description for the show reads: “The series will focus on an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.” If you’ve kept a close eye on the show’s development, it looks like the synopsis is in line with the books. And this is all thanks to Mark Johnson, who is overseeing development of the collection into a TV and streaming platform.
